WE LAUNCH THE FIRST GREEN ENERGY PROJECT IN DRAGOMIRESTI VALE

Soon, the construction of the photovoltaic plant will start
for sustainable energy consumption.

Dear citizens,

We are pleased to announce the start of construction work for the photovoltaic plant in Dragomirești Vale, a significant step towards the sustainable use of energy. This project, co-financed by the EEA and Norwegian Grants, represents an important moment in our commitment to green energy solutions.
The project aims to build a state-of-the-art facility designed to offset local energy consumption with clean and renewable energy.
The completion of the project is scheduled for March 31, 2024.
Environmental protection and sustainable community development remain at the top of our priorities.

ABOUT FINANCING

EEA and Norwegian grants operate in funding periods. In the current period, funding amounts to €2.8 billion and covers areas from climate change and energy to innovation and sustainable business development. The EEA and Norwegian grants represent Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway’s contribution to reducing economic and social disparities and strengthening bilateral relations with 16 EU countries in Europe.

ABOUT THE ENERGY PROGRAM

The objective of the program is to achieve less carbon intensive energy and increased security of supply. The program aims to stimulate and develop long-term cooperation between Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway (the „Donor States”) and Romania (the „Beneficiary State”) and encourages bilateral partnership projects with donors.

LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIP

For decades, the EEA and Norwegian Grants have united us with a common mission: building a green, democratic and inclusive Europe.

PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS

• Reduction of CO2 emissions by 341.25 tons annually and 8,531.37 tons of CO2 throughout the plant’s operation.
• Average production of green energy: 1,115.21 MW/Y
• Central photovoltaic power of 1 MWh

Project completion date: 31.03.2024
